Outreach

Our outreach mission is to feed the poor in body, mind, and spirit
by supporting education and providing food for the hungry.

Serving Students & Families

At Cornelius Elementary School and other local schools

Through our partnership with Cornelius Elementary and other occasional local schools, we:

  • Provide snacks for students
  • Deliver Easter dinner baskets and Christmas gifts to families in need
  • Host book and school supply drives
  • Participate in grounds clean-up events
  • Offer mini-grants to teachers

Supporting the Community Hands Up Food Pantry

At All Saints Episcopal Church (372 NE Lincoln St, Hillsboro)

Community Hands Up is a food pantry at All Saints Episcopal Church in Hillsboro, open second and fourth Tuesdays from 3-6 pm. Our St. Bede's team serves every fourth Tuesday of the month. We also accept donations of non-perishable food and personal care items in the baskets behind the pews in our church, which are then given to the pantry to distribute to those in need. Current food pantry needs are published weekly in our E-Notes and Sunday bulletin announcements.

Growing Food in Our Good News Pantry Garden

Located behind the church next to our parking lot, the Good News Pantry Garden is a collaborative effort by the Dairy Creek Community Food Web and St. Bede's to help educate and feed people in our nearby community.

Providing Meals for
Open Door

We supply groceries to a friend of St. Bede's who then prepares meals for people at Open Door HousingWorks. Open Door is a non-profit in west Hillsboro that provides resources for immediate basic human needs by helping people maintain stable housing and running a homeless drop-in center with various services.

Walking in the Relay for Life

Team Bedes of Sweat

The Relay for Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and Bedes of Sweat is our team! We fundraise annually and walk for those who can't.

Donating Goods to William Temple House

We collect gently used clothes and household items in the barrel at the back of church.  When the barrel is full, items are delivered to William Temple House in Portland.  There is a list of items that they accept on the barrel.
