About Us

Blessed by Beauty, Tradition, & Fun

Located in the beautiful town of Forest Grove nestled at the base of the Oregon Coastal Range, St. Bede's strives to "know Christ more deeply and bring others to his redeeming love and grace". We find inspiration in our patron, St. Bede, who though known for his scholarship, always returned to the sacramental "bread of love" as the best way to know God. Study and prayer are important to us, but so is hospitality (Truly, our coffee hours should not be missed.).

We are a mission of The Episcopal Church in Western Oregon under the leadership of our Bishop, the Right Reverend Diana Akiyama. We are part of The Episcopal Church, a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion. As a praying community, St. Bede’s offers two principal weekly Sunday services of Holy Eucharist as well as opportunities for age-appropriate study on Sunday with other gatherings for prayer and study throughout the week. We intentionally host gatherings for worship and spiritual growth that include families and individuals of all ages. Our Sunday morning worship of Holy Eucharist follows the Book of Common Prayer of the Episcopal Church. This Anglican style of worship is celebrated and enhanced by a rich music program. Everyone, regardless of age, is invited to participate in our liturgies.

Responding in Service

While we recognize the value of building our church community, St. Bede’s outreach is an essential and natural outcome of the prayer which shapes our beliefs and actions. Whether volunteering at the Community Hands Up food pantry, supporting the Forest Grove Elks school backpack program, sponsoring feeding programs, participating in the quilt and prayer shawl ministry, or joining our Bedes of Sweat Relay for Life team, our members can be found actively serving our Washington County neighbors throughout the year. We show hospitality within our community and also through outreach ministries through which we serve our neighbors, community schools, and folks who need help with food and shelter. We hope that you visit us in person soon!
